NDIS provider assurance, from Practice Standards to evidence

Coordinate provider registration, self-assessment, independent quality audits, evidence and ongoing compliance—while maintaining clear ownership and a complete assurance trail.

NDIS providers are registered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. “Accreditation” more specifically applies to Approved Quality Auditors overseen through JASANZ.

Registration and audit pathway

A connected path from application to ongoing assurance.

01

Apply for registration

Nominate registration groups and complete a self-assessment against the applicable NDIS Practice Standards.

02

Confirm the audit scope

The NDIS Commission provides the applicable registration groups, Practice Standards and required audit type.

03

Complete an independent audit

Engage an Approved Quality Auditor for verification or certification according to support risk and complexity.

04

Registration decision

The Commission considers audit findings and the suitability of the provider and key personnel.

05

Maintain ongoing assurance

Keep evidence current for mid-term, condition, out-of-cycle, renewal audits and regulatory action.

Verification audit

Lower-risk or lower-complexity supports

An Approved Quality Auditor conducts a desktop review of the documentary evidence required for the applicable verification module.

Certification audit

Higher-risk or more complex supports

The audit includes a desktop stage followed by onsite assessment of how policies, procedures and participant safeguards are implemented.
